San Francisco is colorful

A long peninsula situated between the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco Bay, San Francisco has a lot to offer. The city of San Francisco itself, a small ~7x7 piece of land, has a lot of life packed inside this foggy little postage stamp. Read about important things to consider and the neighborhoods I have come to love and specialize in below.

Things to consider…

Walkability… corner markets, shops, parks, restaurants and more.

Think ahead about what’s important to have within walking distance. I tell my clients to spend some time in the areas they’re considering. Go have dinner and a cocktail in the neighborhood. If it feels good, I also would say to follow up with a morning coffee or lunch during the week/weekend. How’s the parking at night? Are the early mornings a little too quiet with nobody else around?

Interiors… historic or modern interiors? Perhaps a bit of both?

I am a lover of all things historic in a house. I want picture railings, I want medallions, I want Lincrusta, I want original wood floors. There can be many varieties and blends of historic to modern conveniences, but these historic interiors are going away at a rapid pace, so I’ll be clinging to mine as long as I can. I’ll help you find your own version of perfect.

Commuting and public transportation… factoring it in is a part of life here.

You’re probably already considering your commute and proximity to public transportation or interstate access. Public transportation is great in some areas of the city, but others, not so much. Market Street, Muni, BART, bike routes, tech shuttles are all things most people weave into their housing search. Where do you need to go?

Neighborhoods

There are ~34 mapped neighborhoods in San Francisco, and at least from a real estate standpoint, they are broken up even further than that with our “districts”. Is home for you defined by what's nearby? How friendly the neighbors are? Sunlight versus fog? Restaurants at your fingertips? Historic interiors? Home can mean so many different things to different people and each neighborhood has its own personality. What will it be for you?
